Are you an experienced Learning Disability Physiotherapist?

If so, read on to hear more about this exciting opportunity.........

Title: Developing Standards of Practice for the Specialist Learning Disability Physiotherapist

Dear ACPPLD member

There are currently no formal standards of practice for physiotherapists working with adults with learning disability.  Therefore, we are conducting a research study to develop standards of practice for physiotherapists working with people with learning disabilities based on the available evidence and consensus from expert physiotherapists working in the field of learning disabilities from around the UK.

The research team are looking for senior and clinical specialist physiotherapists currently practising who have significant experience working with adults with learning disabilities to participate in a modified Delphi Study to develop these standards of practice.  Modified Delphi technique is a research method of gaining consensus about a topic from a panel of experts through a series of questionnaire rounds.

If you would be interested in learning more about the study please email me at sarah.bruce@gstt.nhs.uk by the 23rd February 2018.

I will send you a copy of the participant information sheet to read so that you can consider whether you want to be a part of the study. If you require the participant Information Sheet to be translated into another language please indicate this to the research team.

Please be aware that I am on annual leave from 3rd - 14th February therefore will send out participant information sheets on my return.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Many Thanks

Sarah Bruce, Lead Physiotherapist.
