Mencap has launched a campaign called 'Treat me well' which aims to highlight how simple adjustments can make a huge difference to how people with a Learning Disability are treated in hospital.

A lack of training for health professionals could be contributing to 1,200 avoidable deaths of people with a learning disability in England each year, research by Mencap has found. To prevent such deaths, Mencap, backed by the Royal College of Nursing (RCN), is calling on NHS England and the government to ensure that no health professional can set foot in a hospital without receiving training on learning disability.
An interview with Annie Norman was featured on a BBC Breakfast Tweet and the RCN was mentioned on BBC 1 Look North.
