Survey exploring the role of Specialist Learning Disability Physiotherapy services during the COVID-19 pandemic.

On March 11th 2020 the World Health Organisation declared COVID-19 a pandemic. On March the 21st the UK government announced unprecedented measures to control and manage the corona virus pandemic including ‘shielding’ the most vulnerable. These measures will inevitably have had a significant impact on both demand for and capacity to deliver services to adults with a learning disability.

The ACPPLD NEC acknowledges that the role of the specialist learning disability physiotherapist is likely to evolve as this pandemic progresses. We are also aware that there will be variations across the UK in how specialist learning disability physiotherapists have been able to respond to this pandemic based on service demand and the resources available.

To gather data and information about how specialist learning disability physiotherapy services are managing their local population during this pandemic we have developed a short survey.

This should only take 10 minutes to complete. We appreciate you are all very busy, but if you can find the time to complete the survey it would be much appreciated. Please follow the link below.

We will feedback the results and will develop more guidance and recommendations from the findings to help support your services and adults with a learning disability as we progress through the pandemic.

The closing date for the survey is the Friday 29th May 2020.

Many thanks in advance for you time.
