Survey to understand the indirect impact of the pandemic on the physiotherapy needs of adults with a learning disability and explore how services are managing the changes in people’s physical and functional presentation.

We feel that it is a critical time to better understand the indirect impact the pandemic is having on adults with a learning disability as the second wave and new lockdown measures will undoubtedly have a further impact on their presentation and lives. Thus, understanding how the pandemic has affected the physiotherapy needs of adults with a learning disability will help justify and inform how we continue to provide essential services during the next phase of measures to control the spread of the virus.

We are also being asked to represent adults with a learning disability and the membership at a number of groups nationally. Being able to provide evidence, experiences and stories from across the UK is really helpful when we have discussions about the impact of the pandemic on specialist learning disability services.
