Learning Disabiltiy staff in Perth and Kinross had a hectic week raising awareness.
The ACPPLD Leaflet 'So your next patient has a Learning Disability' was shared with physios (and other professionals who may find it's content useful) across Tayside, and the Learning Disability Team had an information stand in situ all week at local hub base foyer which was very well attended.
As part of LD Week awareness raising a team member delivered a presentation on "Learning Disability- Better Lives for the Older Adult" at a local Older People's Board Roadshow event, whilst another team Member shared information around Supported Parenting for people who have a LD at the local Children & Young People's Forum.
Team Members also attended the LD Care Providers Forum and presented on Communication Needs and Activity Opportunities. Broadening things beyond Tayside, a team member also shared with NHS Fife staff actions taken in Tayside around Palliative Care and Learning Disabilities.
The week ended in a fabulous information drop in event held at Horsecross Concert Hall in Perth where over 40 stands were available, displaying information from a huge amount of services and organisations. The event was opened by Angie McManus, LD Service Manager on behalf of Perth & Kinross Health & Social Care Partnership and was well received.
