Scottish Learning Disability week - 14th to 20th May

Today marks the start of Scotlands Learning Disability week

The week is promoted and led by the Scottish Commission for Learning Disability and more information about the event can be found at:

https://www.scld.org.uk/learning-disability-week/learning-disability-week-2018-generation/

2018 marks the ‘Year of Young People’ in Scotland, and the theme for Learning Disability Week reflects that. ‘My Generation’ will focus the country’s attention on the experiences of young people with learning disabilities in Scotland.

The ‘My Generation’ theme is also a great way for older people with learning disabilities to highlight how much Scotland has changed during their lifetime. We will be encouraging people with learning disabilities of all ages to reflect on the things that summed up their younger lives.

Some of the Learning Disability services in Ayrshire and Tayside have great plans for the week (see flyers below). If anyone else is doing things let us know and we will add to this article.

For those of you not in Scotland the UK Learning Disability week will be from 18th to 24th June 2018 so get planning now. The focus for that event is 'All about Health'
